John Rolfe, Jr. (vers 1585 - 1622) fut un des premiers colons anglais. On lui attribue le début de la culture du tabac (avec succès), destinée à l'exportation, dans la colonie de Virginie. Il est aussi connu pour avoir épousé Pocahontas en 1614, fille du chef de la confédération powhatan.

4 de sept. de 2022 · In 1616, Rolfe took his wife and infant son Thomas to England. Pocahontas died at Gravesend seven months later, just before returning to Virginia. A sad John Rolfe left his young son in the care of a guardian in England and returned to his adopted home. Upon his return to Virginia, he assumed more prominence in the colony.
