Yet another British pop rock band that slid passed unnoticed in the eighties and nineties which makes being confronted with Any Time Now – The Outfield's first totally new album in fourteen years – feel slightly awkward. But the biggest benefit of becoming acquainted with a band after they've reunited is in having a complete lack of knowledge of their previous history.

Any Time Now - The Outfield (CD 2006) The on-line edition of Any Time Now available for the last year is the better of the two versions. The new songs aren't bad but lots of political overtones. For a group known for its boy meets girl tunes like Your Love, All the Love in the World and For You, they probably won't win any new fans with this one.
