Semisonic is an American rock band formed in Minneapolis in 1995, consisting of Dan Wilson (lead vocals, guitar, keyboards), John Munson (bass, keyboards, backing vocals, guitar), and Jacob Slichter (drums, percussion, keyboards, backing vocals). They are best known in the U.S. for their 1998 top-20 single "Closing Time".
Munson’s research for the past eight years has focused on the regeneration of peripheral nerves and their role in the recovery of spinal cord function following injury. Munson received his Ph.D. in neurobiology from the University of Rochester, N.Y., and did post doctoral work as a Fellow in neurophysiology at the University of Pisa in Italy.
