Franz Boas (Minden, actual Alemania, 1858 - Nueva York, 1942) Antropólogo estadounidense de origen alemán. Cursó estudios en las universidades de Heidelberg y Bonn, y en 1881 se doctoró en física y geografía por la Universidad de Kiel.
