I bought mine used in 2006 from a guy named Peter Gregg (looks like he's still online, here) and it lasted about three years.At that time it started changing its own settings, deciding it didn't have a lens on it when in fact it did, and generally acting like it was haunted.

Haven’t had a functioning bike in quite a number of years. I was looking for a project and found a $20 Schwinn Le Tour up the road from me. This bike is made by Panasonic in Japan.
