In his liner notes, Samson Records owner Norman Waitt, Jr. refers to the palpable joy that emanated from the stage that night, and most of that joy translates to this almost celebratory-like recording as well.

Crosby decided to hire his son as a keyboard player for a 1996 tour, playing Byrds favorites like "Eight Miles High" along with a new Crosby-Raymond composition, "Morrison." Crosby, Pevar, and Raymond recorded CPR for a 1998 release on Samson Records; Live at the Wiltern followed a year later; Just Like Gravity appeared in June 2001.
