Founded in 1974, Pendle college is one of the more recent colleges to be constructed at Lancaster University, as the 7th college on campus. Pendle was named after the historic area of Pendle, just south of Lancaster, associated with great legend and folklore and probably more well known for the Pendle witched the trials that took place at Lancaster Castle in 1612.
