The first John Steel Singers album has been a long time coming but it doesn't disappoint. Although I do have a couple of concerns; getting Robert Forster, he of The Go-Betweens, to produce did seem like a genius idea, but the production plays up the more singer-songwriterly aspects of the band while playing down the brightly coloured sunshine pop side, which happens to be the side I most adore.
