Budokan II was Cheap Trick’s first attempt at releasing the remaining material that did not make the final cut for the At Budokan LP in 1978 (recorded at the Budokon, Tokyo, Japan, April 28, 1978). Originally released in 1978 as a token of appreciation for the unexpected and overwhelmingly warm reception their Japanese fans showered upon the band during their first visit to Japan.
