It's currently not known if this was released with C.O.C.'s consent, because the band had left Sony long before the release of this compilation.

Corrosion of Conformity was contracted with Sony-owned companies from 1991-1996. The "Playlist" series is also a Sony product. It is no surprise at this point that there is no material before 1991 or after 1996 on this compilation CD. It's a pity, but no surprise. However, the songs Sony chose for this time frame was relatively well done ...

One of the first punk-metal fusion bands, Corrosion of Conformity were formed in North Carolina by guitarist Woody Weatherman during the early '80s. In their early years, C.O.C. became known for their aggressive sound, intelligent political lyrics, and willingness to break away from both hardcore and metal conventions.
