Max Barrett is a freelance bassist and Music Teacher based in Brooklyn. Max has a long background in classical, jazz, pop, rock, and bluegrass bass performance. Growing up in Northern Virginia, he began public performance on upright bass at the age of 9. Max holds a Bachelors of Music in Jazz Studies from James Madison University.

Max Barrett (1937–1997) Sculptor and carver who was born in Penzance, Cornwall. He worked as a steeplejack and as a steel erector, then began sculpting full-time in 1972. His Gentle Wave at Land’s End was commissioned by the St Ives Festival Committee in 1982. Barrett’s work was included in Artists from Cornwall at RWA in 1992.
