Billy was a well known session guitarist in the pub-rock/new wave scene when he joined Rockpile in 1976. Rockpile members Dave Edmunds and Nick Lowe also utilized his talents as a guitarist on many of their early solo projects. He became a replacement for James Honeyman-Scott of Pretenders after Honeyman-Scott's death. Bremner played on both Learning to Crawl and Packed!.

This past October, Billy Bremner released Singled Out, adding to the legend of Rockpile.Since one normally associates Lowe and Edmunds first and foremost with Rockpile, I’m sure there are a few folks who wonder whether a Bremner retrospective is warranted.
