13 de ene. de 2007 · Though I have been a fan of Michael Franks for going on 30 years now, I always ignored Previously Unavailable when I saw it in the bins. After all, my experience with "early" and "newly discovered old" recordings was that they had been buried in the archives for good reason.
Michael Franks occupied a uniquely popular niche in the world of soft jazz and pop music in the 1970s; he was one of those crossover artists who defied easy categorization on the radio (which made him ideal for FM radio of the period), and found an audience mostly among college students. He was born in La Jolla, California in 1944.
