Record label Decca has unveiled a second track from the forthcoming album by the late Tony Allen. ‘Stumbling Down’ sees the drummer combine with rapper Sampa The Great, and is one of 14 tracks that will appear on There Is No End when it’s posthumously released later this month, exactly a year after Allen’s death.

Tony Allen was a Nigerian drummer, composer, and songwriter. He was considered one of the founders of the Afrobeat genre and was the drummer and musical director for Fela Kuti's band, Africa '70. Allen's distinctive drumming style blended traditional African rhythms with jazz and funk influences, creating a unique sound that became influential in various music genres.

7 de may. de 2021 · On the intro to Tony Allen's posthumous There Is No End, we hear the voice of the iconic Nigerian-born, Paris-based drummer himself, explaining this album’s very title. Quite literally, he says “there is no end” to the hypnotic loop of a distinctive drum groove called Afrobeat, which Allen created and implemented as a co-founder of Fela Kuti’s groundbreaking band Africa 70.
