Ugly Betty, ou Chère Betty au Québec [1], est une série télévisée américaine en 85 épisodes de 42 minutes développée par Silvio Horta, produite par Salma Hayek et diffusée entre le 28 septembre 2006 et le 14 avril 2010 sur le réseau ABC et en simultané au Canada sur Citytv [2].Il s'agit d'une adaptation de la telenovela colombienne Yo soy Betty, la fea de Fernando Gaitán.

In Italia la serie debuttò inizialmente in prima visione assoluta su Italia 1 nel 2007, per poi passare alla pay TV grazie agli ottimi ascolti.
