I gave that album a listen after reading this post and it does sound something like Big Star, just without Alex Chilton’s vocals. Instrumentally it sounds quite similar, not the same, but very similar. I do enjoy Alex Chilton’s vocals more personally, at the same time, I’ve only heard one Big Star record and none of his solo stuff.
