Motörhead oli brittiläinen rock-yhtye, jonka perusti Lemmy Kilmister (laulu, basso). Yhtye aloitti uransa bluesvaikutteisella rockilla mutta lisäsi pian tyyliinsä punkrockin nopeutta ja rujoutta. Motörhead oli musiikillisesti 1970-luvun lopun raskaimpia yhtyeitä, ja se vaikutti suuresti muun muassa thrash metalin syntyyn. Motörheadin albumeita on myyty maailmanlaajuisesti yli 15 miljoonaa.
Motörhead e W.A.S.P. Blackie Lawless, leader degli W.A.S.P.. Nel 1997 i Motörhead condivisero con gli W.A.S.P. una tournée mondiale. I due gruppi si erano accordati prima di iniziare il tour per alternarsi il ruolo di headliner durante le varie tappe. Gli W.A.S.P. però non avevano del tutto accettato questa divisione e iniziarono ad ostacolare i compagni di tour.
