Our History. Liverpool Blue Coat School can trace its origins back to 1708 when a request was made to the mayor and town council of Liverpool for support in “ building a School, for teaching poor children to read, write, etc.”. This request was made by the Rev. Robert Stythe, a rector at the recently-established church of St Peter’s.

Sixth Form. The Blue Coat School Sixth Form is the largest in the city, with 360 students studying in our Year 12 and Year 13. We have great flexibility in our curriculum – there are 18 A level courses to choose from and it is rare that students aren’t able to study the combination they choose.
