AllMusic awarded the album 4.5 stars and its review by Michael G. Nastos states, "First date for brothers from 1975. Side one is solid jazz/funk/fusion". At the 1976 Grammy Awards the album received three nominations, for Best R&B Instrumental Performance ("Sneakin’ up Behind You"), Best New Artist and Best Instrumental Arrangement (Randy Brecker for "Some Skunk Funk").

Michael Brecker nel 2001. I Brecker Brothers erano un gruppo musicale funky-fusion capitanato dal sassofonista Michael Brecker e dal fratello trombettista Randy Brecker.Il gruppo, nato sulle ceneri dei Dreams (che era composto da Randy Brecker, il batterista Billy Cobham, il trombonista Barry Rogers, Jeff Kent e Doug Lubahn), ebbe un discreto successo negli Stati Uniti fra gli anni '70 e '90.
Brecker Brothers (auch The Brecker Brothers oder Brecker Bros.) war eine Fusionband, die von den Brüdern Michael Brecker (Saxophon, Flöte, später auch EWI) und Randy Brecker (Trompete, Flügelhorn) geleitet wurde und seit 1975 in den 1970er und frühen 1980er Jahren kommerziell erfolgreiche Fusionalben aufnahm.
