Jednak nie mógł przekonać do swojego stylu muzycznego Leonarda Chessa, właściciela firmy Chess, który nie pozwalał mu na dokonywanie nagrań z wykorzystywaniem tego efektu.Dopiero sukces grupy Cream spowodował, że zrozumiał swój błąd.
