The movie opens with the child landing on earth. A lot of the backstory that Jor-El gives to Clark is cut as it didn't seem necessary. A few of the Daily Planet scenes are edited down for pacing. The first two scenes of Lex are cut. Instead, the first time you see him in the movie is when he finds out about superman.
