If Phil Spector was like Wagner, Martin was more in the vein of Debussy or Ravel. More into subtly blending instrumental color rather than blasting it all together. Don't get me wrong, I love the album and I think Spector's Wall of Sound technique really brings out a lot in George's music (even if George himself thought otherwise in later years).
