However, many of the pictures our telescopes, orbiters, and rovers have sent back show signs that liquid water might have been on the surface of Mars long ago. Like Curiosity, the Perseverance rover is the size of a small SUV. The new rover has a different goal and different instruments. It will look directly for signs of past life on Mars.
