A selection committee made up of Division I Baseball Coaches, Sports Information Directors and Major League Scouts selected the sixteen catchers from 69 nominations submitted by Division I college schools.

Guscette is one 16 semifinalists for the Posey, which has been presented each year since 2000 to the nation's top catcher at the Division I level.
