If you're going to make dried bundles of lavender, harvest it early in the season when the first blossoms open on the plant. When clean-looking buds are needed for cooking or craft projects, harvest it before the blossoms open and turn brown.

Add 10 drops of essential oil and stir to combine. Sprinkle dried lavender petals into the soap mold. Pour melted soap into the molds and add additional petals to the top, if desired.
