Born Robert Hammond Patrick, Jr. on Nov. 5, 1958 in Marietta, GA., the young aspiring athlete attended Ohio's Bowling Green State University in 1979. Making the varsity team his freshman year, Patrick dropped out after taking a sudden interest in acting and theater - a pursuit he had only half-heartedly considered as a youngster.
In Ability Magazine he commented upon his height, saying " [Arnie is] about my size. I'm 6 feet, 208 pounds. I think he's about 6 foot 1. When we were making the movie he was about 195 pounds". In 2016 he also claimed 5'11 and also mentioned he was 165 lbs in T2.
