About this course. On the Writing for Performance course, you can: Develop skills for writing for performance practices. Create new performance work and explore innovative forms of writing for solo performance, verbatim theatre and devised theatre. Work with award-winning playwrights, arts practitioners and directors.
On the Drama, Applied Theatre and Education (DATE) course, you can: Develop skills in areas such as facilitating, devising, directing, performing, playwriting and filmmaking. Become uniquely placed for a broad range of career paths including drama facilitation, directing and performance making, and educational roles in theatre companies.
As a student on the Performance Arts course, you will: Develop your creative work by exploring a wide range of experimental performance from across art forms and cultures. Develop performance-making and critical skills to investigate, theorise and develop new theatre and performance. Use performance to critically reflect on the world.
About this course. As a student on the MA or MFA Advanced Theatre Practice at Central, you can expect to: Practice and study theatre directing, performing or scenography in a collaborative environment. Engage in an experimental laboratory fuelled by theory and research. Create new work for a range of course-centred and public encounters.
Saturday Youth Theatre (ages 6 - 17) Join us every Saturday for 9 weeks of fun-filled, practical classes, with lots of opportunities to play, create theatre and make new friends! Each week, you will explore lots of different drama techniques including improvisation, voice, and movement, devising and working with scripts.
We work across and between art forms – from theatre and dance to film, live art, and performance – to develop new thinking with the latest technologies and techniques, realised in dialogue with artists, academics, participants and audiences.
