Rankin wrote a wonderful book when he wrote Mortal Causes. The story is gripping and I couldn't put the book down. I would recommend this book to anyone that is a fan of the crime genre. Read more. 1 de ene. de 2005 · My highest praise is for the conclusion of Mortal Causes. It takes place during the Edinburgh Festival, the same time that I actually have visited Edinburgh, and it’s a rip-snorter. Surprising, action-packed, and completely satisfying. Every thumb up for Rankin at his finest.
Mortal Causes (A Rebus Novel) Paperback – 1 Sept. 2005. It is August in Edinburgh and the Festival is in full swing... A brutally tortured body is discovered in one of the city's ancient subterranean streets and marks on the corpse cause Rebus to suspect the involvement of sectarian activists.
As "Mortal Causes" ended, I found myself saying, "I can't wait for the next episode.", but there wasn't going to be another episode. I hope John Hannah and Ian Rankin can convince ITV to make another series. Very much recommended for those who love intelligent crime drama.
