Saint Mary’s College of California is one of the oldest colleges in the West. Founded in 1863 by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese as a college for men, the school was originally located in San Francisco, operating for several years under Archdiocesan direction. In 1868, the De La Salle Christian Brothers assumed direction of the school.

An enrolled student may request to withdraw from Saint Mary's College at any point prior to the end of the semester in which they are enrolled. (Please note, the semester ends prior to finals week.) When a student withdraws from the college during the add/drop period (please refer to academic calendar for exact dates), all enrolled courses will be dropped from their schedule.
