5 de ago. de 2020 · It was very appropriate that Moon covered a Lennon heavy Beatles track on the album considering he played a large part in the creation of Two Sides of the Moon. The Who drummer had moved into the Beverly Wilshire Hotel with assistant Dougal Butler in March 1974, to play with Harry Nilsson’s Pussy Cats on an album that was produced by John Lennon and led to the embers of Moon’s solo debut.

23 de ago. de 2023 · The fun turned sour for “Moon the Loon” in 1970 when on January 4th he accidentally killed his friend, driver and bodyguard, Neil Boland, outside the Red Lion pub in Hatfield, Hertfordshire. Pub patrons had begun to attack his Bentley and Moon, drunk, began driving to escape them. During the fracas, he hit Boland.

When Harry Nilsson took a call on 7 September 1978 to tell him that the Who’s drummer Keith Moon had been found dead in Nilsson’s London apartment, it was a shock for two reasons. Firstly, Moon was the second star to die in the flat, the first having been Mama Cass, who had also borrowed it as a temporary London home.
