Well the meta has somewhat stabilised due to them adding (loads of) a new rarity called Omegas. They scale alongside their level, unlock new moves at certain levels and you can cuztomise them (hp, attack, armor, crit chance and crit damage). The game is still grindy as ever, especially if you want to take omegas seriously.
It's near impossible to coordinate raids in the in game chat. As for the best creatures, here's some good options: Legendary: Unique. Both of these lists are in approximate order of value for raids. None of the apexes are very good for raids but the uniques I listed will get you through all the apex raids.
