Braveheart is pitiful and I feel truly insulted by it. It is so broad and mainstream that it ends up dumb and patronising, treating the audience as fools. Rather than just telling a genuinely fascinating historical story, Braveheart decides its runtime needs to be padded out with moronic comedy, cheesy romances, and one-dimensional heroes and villains.
