Hugo de Vries. Hugo Marie de Vries (16 Februari 1848, Haarlem – 21 Mei 1935, Lunteren) adalah seorang ahli botani dan genetika berkebangsaan Belanda. Hugo de Vries fue un botánico, genetista y evolucionista holandés nacido en Haarlem en 1848. Desde temprana edad manifestó su interés por la naturaleza, lo que lo llevó a estudiar biología en la Universidad de Leiden y más tarde a trabajar en varias instituciones científicas europeas.
