Following Warren Zevon's death in 2003, his son Jordan Zevon discovered 126 unreleased outtakes and demos in a piano-sized touring case. This discovery would be distilled down to the best of these recordings and eventually released on the 2007 2CD set titled Preludes.
Fans of Warren Zevon will now have a chance to learn more about his life and music when a new two-CD set, Preludes: Rare&Unreleased Recordings is released on May 1. Following his death, his son, Jordan Zevon, discovered 126 unreleased outtakes and demos in a piano-sized touring case. The two-CD set collects the best of these recordings.

The tracks on preludes are akin to live improvisations of his best known works, or perhaps early demo versions. They may not be polished but they're definitely worth listening. If you're looking for new, fresh, Warren Zevon, you're not going to hear a great deal of it here, but the original tracks that ARE here are well worth the price of the disk.
