For 100 years, the Sisters of Providence have provided care for the elderly at the Providence Mount St. Vincent senior community in West Seattle.

Since then, it has received several awards which include the Excellence in Practice Award in 1997 and the Innovator of the Year Award in the same year awarded by AAHSA (American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging) and Washington Association of Homes for the Aging respectively (Eskidsen 2008).
