The Quarrymen er eit engelsk skiffleband som vart starta i Liverpool mot slutten av 1956 av John Lennon og fleire skulekameratar. Namnet på bandet var inspirert av Quarry Bank High school, som Lennon og andre bandmedlemmer gjekk på.Mor til Lennon, Julia Lennon, lærte Lennon og Eric Griffiths korleis å stemme gitaren på same måte som ein banjo og lærte dei enkle akkordar og songar.
