Gentle Giant is eccentric, and definitely an acquired taste, even for died-in-the-wool prog rock fans. Once you get the taste however, there's tons of good stuff to explore.

Gentle Giant's Octopus is a great album, covering everything that's great about Gentle Giant. Magnificent vocal harmonies, fabulous drum patterns, good bass-play, great symphonification of the sound. Gentle Giants sound is comprised of rock music, fused with classical music, medieval music, and jazz, and even some folk here and there, all in the typical, frantic, Gentle Giant style.
