‘Richard Hunt: Early Masterworks’ is open at White Cube New York through April 13. In 1953, Hunt resolved to become a metal sculptor. Within weeks of graduating high school and seeing the exhibition 'Sculpture of the Twentieth Century' at the Art Institute of Chicago, he bought a soldering iron and zinc-coated wire at a hardware store and adapted his bedroom studio to metalworking.
