Josef Hoffmann (Brtnice, Moravia,1870 – Vienna 1956) architetto, frequentò la Staatsgewerbeschule di Brno. Nel 1892 si trasferì a Vienna per completare la sua formazione all’Accademia di belle arti, dove fu allievo di Otto Wagner. Nel 1898 divenne uno dei fondatori della secessione viennese, e più tardi, della Wiener Werkstätte insieme a Joseph Maria Olbrich.

Josef Hoffmann, född 15 december 1870 i Pirnitz, nuvarande Tjeckien, död 7 maj 1956 i Wien, var en österrikisk arkitekt. Hoffmann var starkt påverkad av sina lärare Karl von Hasenauer och Otto Wagner vid Wiens konstakademi och inledde sin karriär på Wagners arkitektkontor.

10 de dic. de 2021 · With more than 800 objects, this show at the MAK (Museum of Applied Arts) in Vienna (14 December–19 June 2022) is the largest survey of the architect and designer Josef Hoffmann’s work to date. Hoping to offer a fuller picture of his wide-ranging oeuvre it retraces his years with the Vienna Secession, the Wiener Werkstätte and the Werkbund (all of which he co-founded).
