31 de ene. de 2024 · Ali Akbar Khan (14 April 1922 – 18 June 2009) was a Hindustani classical musician of the Maihar gharana school, known for his virtuosity in playing the sarod. Trained as a classical musician and instrumentalist by his father, Allauddin Khan, Khan also composed several classical ragas and film scores.
Ali Akbar Khan was born on 14 April 1922 in Shibpur, Comilla, Bengal Presidency, British India [now Bangladesh]. He was a composer, known for The Darjeeling Limited (2007), Taking Woodstock (2009) and Jhinder Bandi (1961).

Born in 1922 in Shibpore, East Bengal, now Bangladesh, as son of the legendary Acharya Baba Allauddin Khan; died at 87 at his home in San Francisco on June 18, 2009, having suffered four years of kidney-related illness.
