Richard Clare "Rick" Danko (født 29. december 1942 i Green's Corners, Ontario, død 10. december 1999 i Marbletown, New York) var en canadisk bassist og sanger i rockgruppen The Band. Danko blev født og voksede op i en musikalsk ukrainsk-kanadisk familie i Greens Corners, et landbrugssamfund uden for den lille by Simcoe i Ontario.

24 de oct. de 2018 · Richard Clare "Rick" Danko (December 29 1943 - December 10, 1999) (his birthdate is often mistakenly listed as 1942) was a musician and singer from Green's Corners, near Simcoe, Ontario, probably best known as the bass player and one of three lead singers of The Band.At the age of 14 (1957) Danko booked himself as an opening act for ronnie hawkins, & his band The Hawks.

Rick reinvented the fretless bass in rock and also played country fiddle, often accompanied by the mandolin of Levon Helm.
