Doc Cheatham. Adolphus Anthony Cheatham, beter bekend als Doc Cheatham ( Nashville, 13 juni 1905 - Washington, 2 juni 1997) was een Amerikaanse jazz - trompettist, -bandleider en -zanger. Hij begon zijn carrière in de eerste helft van de jaren twintig en zou tot zijn dood, in 1997, actief zijn: een loopbaan van zo'n 75 jaar.

Although inspired early on by King Oliver and Louis Armstrong, the technically skilled Cheatham spent a large part of his prime years as a nonsoloing lead trumpeter in big bands including McKinney’s Cotton Pickers, Cab Calloway (), Benny Carter, Teddy Wilson, Fletcher Henderson and Claude Hopkins.
