25 de may. de 2023 · In 1979, Finnish singer Matti Fagerholm and guitarist Antti Hulkko sowed seeds for what became Hanoi Rocks.In February 1981, after adopting the respective stage names Michael Monroe and Andy McCoy, the band released their debut album, Bangkok Shocks, Saigon Shakes, Hanoi Rocks (7/10).It hit the shops while the five-piece were on a three-month, 102-date tour.
16 de abr. de 2019 · Michael Monroe - Not Fakin’ It (Mercury, 1989) After the demise of Hanoi Rocks, Monroe moved to New York and launched his solo career in 1987 with Nights Are So Long. A low-key comeback, the album was comprised mostly of cover versions of cult rock songs. But with the follow-up, Not Fakin’ It, he raised his game.
The tale of the late 1983 Hanoi Rocks recordings is an interesting part of the Hanoi Rocks saga as the sessions yielded almost a "lost album" of sorts. It is not 100 per cent sure where the demoing/pre-production sessions took place. A good guess is London´s Greenhouse Studios, where the band spent a lot of time in 1983 and 1984.

7 de sept. de 2022 · I Hanoi Rocks uppsättning som är en del av Michael Monroes 60-årskonsert ingår Monroe på sång, Andy McCoy och Nasty Suicide på gitarr, Sami Yaffa på bas och Gyp Casino på trummor. Den sistnämnda fanns med i Hanoi Rocks uppsättning mellan 1980 och 1982 och medverkade på albumen Bangkok Shocks, Saigon Shakes, Hanoi Rocks och Oriental Beat.
