Tom Hanks casting someone who looks exactly like young Tom Hanks to play the lead here makes this movie, essentially, Tom Hank’s Gemini Man—but the whole reason it works is because That Thing You Do is a truly good and catchy and perfect song!!! the ending is also incredible and forces us to realize that this is actually Lamarr’s movie.
