18 de dic. de 2008 · Sammy Baugh, who set numerous passing records with the Washington Redskins in an era when NFL teams were running most every down, died Wednesday night, his son said.
"Slingin'" Sammy Baugh was the first of the great glamour players to give tremendous impetus to the modern passing game. Aided by the slimmer football developed in 1934, Baugh threw 587 passes in his three varsity seasons for 39 touchdowns and nearly two miles in yardage.
Herkunft. Sammy Baugh wurde auf einer Farm in Temple, Texas, in armen Verhältnissen geboren. 29 de jun. de 2018 · Sammy Baugh, considered one of the greatest Redskins of all time, passed away on Dec. 17, 2008. He was 94. Baugh grew up in Sweetwater, Tex., and starred at Texas Christian University from 1934-36, leading the Horned Frogs to a national championship.
