Dermot Crowley auditioned for the role of the Seventh Doctor. The entire audition was filmed as a short, was scripted by Andrew Cartmel, directed by Andrew Morgan, produced by John Nathan-Turner and released as the Seventh Doctor Audition Tapes on The Collection Season 24. If Crowley had been cast, he would have been the first Irish actor to play the Doctor.
