18 de mar. de 1991 · Gila Almagor is one of Israel’s foremost actors. She has appeared in over 35 feature films, and has ten times won Israeli “Oscars” (called “David’s Harp” awards) for best actress. In 1990, she was selected “Best Actress of the Decade” by the Israeli press.
GILA ALMAGOR-AGMON Gila Almagor-Agmon was born in Petah Tikva in 1939, four months following her father’s death by an Arab sniper while working as a police officer. During her childhood, she moved from one school to another and at 14 she came to the Hadassim Youth Village where she first met children who were Holocaust survivors.
ALMAGOR, GILAALMAGOR, GILA (1939– ), first lady of Israeli stage and screen; also the author of several children's books. Born in Petaḥ Tikvah, Almagor wrote about her troubled childhood as the daughter of a widowed, mentally ill Holocaust survivor in her book, The Summer of Aviya, which was filmed in 1988. It starred Almagor herself in a role based on her mother.
