The Islington-born actor joined the cast of the show back in 2006 as the dodgy car dealer who was the ex-husband of Albert Square resident Shirley Carter (Linda Henry). His character also had a love affair with the fiery mum-of-two Denise Fox (Diane Parish).

Phil Daniels was born in 1958 in Islington, London, and attended the Anna Scher Theatre School as a child. Since then, Daniels has established himself in television, film, theatre and music. Daniels started his career at the age of 17 appearing in Bugsy Malone as a waiter.
