Now, on his 76th birthday, let’s look back on the life and career on one of the most-esteemed English actors.
George Costigan may look familiar. His TV credits include The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Kavanagh QC, A Touch of Frost, Inspector Morse, The Bill, Holby City, The Long Firm, Vera, Dalziel and Pascoe, The Ruth Rendell Mysteries, The Inspector Lynley Mysteries, New Tricks, Casualty, and, most recently, as Nevison Gallagher in Sally Wainwright’s award-winning, Happy Valley.

I would prefer the club, the team I support, to be individual in its manner of doing its business. I would prefer it took a moral stand, from time to time. If it stood up for whatever “The Everton Way” is supposed to be.

His TV and film career exploded after the release of Rita, Sue and Bob Too, since establishing himself in the likes of BAFTA-award-winning drama series Happy Valley, Line of Duty, Emmerdale, Holby City, and Gentleman Jack.
