Athough I already owned "Juppanese," my version didn't have the five bonus tracks on it, so I also bought the newer one. In my opinion, "Juppanese" is one of Mickey's finest albums. Not every single track on it is great, but it does contain such great ones that the album, as a whole, is outstanding. Classic rock fans, don't miss this one.
Mickey Jupp was a pre-pub rock scene fixture throughout the 1970s as frontman with the band Legend.Jupp’s solo debut LP, Juppanese (1978), was an album of two halves.Side one found him backed by Rockpile and cutting a barrelhouse rug on Makin’ Friends and If Only Mother, while the second side (where he was joined by Chris Spedding and Gary Brooker) was slicker and more soulful.
